The subject matter of this work is metamorphosis and sacrifice.

This is a soft sculpture about the size of a human body, in a form that can be worn by the artist herself.

This costume mimics her aunt's body. As important motifs, the work deals with womanhood as abjection , and motherhood which is connected to female relatives, blood and menstrual blood.

She has the sexuality that could become a mature mother, but yet has an ugly body that will get sick and is about to grow old. This work is an attempt to free herself from the fear and rejection of maturity by take the initiative in wearing the "abject“ flesh.

A doll, in other words "hitogata" as a human form have long had the aspect of surrogate beings that take on the sins and impurities of human beings.

For her as an artist , too. The soft sculpture as doll was a substitute. The process of creation was an offensive and defensive battle to tear the Passion from her body, transfer it to another body, transform it, and isolate it.

On the other hand, the notion of substitution can also be found in the context of inheritance within a bloodline.

After the death of a particular person, roles may be moved up as if to fill an absence, and relationships within a family may be recreated. Certain qualities and assets, including heredity, are passed on as inextricably linked to disaster. When generational change occurs, the phenomenon of substitution also seems to go with it.The experience of pain continues to be reproduced in the depths of the house.

When we rediscover the nature of substitution and compensation as common phenomena between dolls and humans, That is where the realisation comes in.

The artist herself needs to call back the pain of being cut off from her and take it in stride anew.

She re-enacts the role of the doll and takes the place of the substitute. Through a roundabout procedure, the soul is finally delivered into its original body.

This seems to lead not only to a recovery for the individual, but also to the repose of the souls of generations to come.
